CTE teacher Caty Wolfe has been incorporating the library makerspace into her lesson plans. Here she explains the spooky project!
Caty: “In PreTech2: IDEA (IT, Digital Media, Engineering, and the Arts) we are exploring geometric shapes (for our geometry class) in a 3D modeling program called TinkerCAD. It is a free web-based program that anyone can use and it has great tutorials. My students were challenged to create a halloween themed object that could be lit from inside. I got some LED tea lights for the light source, and they used calipers to measure to make sure it would fit. They learned TinkerCAD and we started 3D printing the products on a Ultimaker2 in the Maker Space in the library and a Makerbot Replicator.”
