Here in the library, we are all about technology! This week has been especially exciting for us because we were able to bring a handful of new and different projects to the students. A quick recap of the week:
Monday: Battery powered LED bookmarks
Robin Lane taught circuit design using LED lights, conductive material, a battery, and felt as a base to create these long-lasting bookmarks. Thanks Robin!
Tuesday: 3D modeling workshop
Albert Gregoritsch taught the students how to use the free online program Tinkercad to design 3D projects. He did an intro to 3D printing, the basics of how to use Tinkercad, and how to convert files to be sent to our Ultimaker 2 3D printer. Thanks Albert!
Martine Gulick taught us how to make conductive origami lobster/shrimp puppets with light-up eyes! The main materials used were copper tape, LEDs, a tabbed battery, and scrapbook paper. Thanks Martine!
